I'm in a hurry to get things done

Rushing Rushing Till Life's No fun!
Have you ever heard the phrase "Sabbath"? The term has religious connections but the idea is for everyone. It is simply to take a break from the busy world to just rest. We love taking a Sabbath at my house.
Today was not a Sabbath. We have been going non-stop since this morning and we are all exhausted. Everywhere we went was loud and crowded and busy and basically insane. We are all introverts so crowds drain us like crazy, me especially. After a park, working a few hours during peak hours, dollar tree, and chick-fil-a, I was really not feeling any more crowds. But we had one more promised stop.
Our last stop of the day was Target. We didn't need anything, but today was a special Mommy-sons day and one son requested Target to look at toys, so we did. This is a college town, so Target on a Saturday was insane. I was feeling extremely tired and ready to go home but decided to do a bathroom stop mainly to make sure my youngest wasn't sitting in a soggy pull up on the way home. He has had some success but isn't consistent yet so I really wasn't expecting him to go. There was a line for the bathroom. It was noisy and crowded and not super clean. Not really setting the stage for potty training success. However, in the midst of the craziness my son did his business just like a pro. I was completely amazed that in the busy-ness of the day he could focus. He could remember what to do.
You see, potty training isn't always about what we as parents do correctly, or incorrectly. The success is up to the kids. As parents we lay the ground work, teach them what to do, and help them view it as normal. They need to see that going to the potty is still a normal thing even when life is crazy and busy. My son got it today, even when I didn't think he would.
Life is going to be busy. Don't put potty training on hold when life gets busy.
Because life in diapers is no fun. :-)
