Boys pee on the bathroom floor

Let's be honest. Boys tend to miss the toilet. A lot. Girls will sometimes too, but mostly it's a boy thing. It seems to be a constant "boy mom" frustration that they all agree on.

But sometimes it is a good thing. Seriously. I'm sure anyone reading this just lost all faith in my abilities and possibly sanity, but hold on. Don't rule me out yet.

My toddler is still navigating the potty training process and today he peed twice on the bathroom floor. And I cheered for him. He is making the connection that he needs to pee and that the bathroom is where he needs to go. He is figuring it out in his own timing and in his own way. Baby steps are still progress.

I celebrate the progress. I've been feeling guilty that I am working my other job so much that potty training has kind of taken a back seat, so finding the forward motion is so refreshing.

You are doing a good job as a parent. You are doing an excellent job if you love your offspring, feed them, take care of their basic needs and want to help them succeed. Let me help you find the progress instead of feeling like you are less than enough on your own.

And if your boy is potty training and just peed on the bathroom floor, do a little happy dance. Before or after you clean the floor, whichever you prefer.
